Earn Your Bad Ending: Based on your actions it's possible for Robin to throw you out of her house.Did Not Get the Girl: Rather unfortunate as Robin seems like a nice enough girl but isn't comfortable trying for a second date.You get special custom responses if you enter Robin, Gary or even leaving it blank. You'll then have a textbox to enter whatever your name is. Developers' Foresight: In one of the Golden Endings Robin will ask you for your name since she can't remember it either.She's smart, beautiful, and a total sweetie. The Cutie: Robin is a pretty cute young lady.Subverted if you either remain honest when she discovers you don't remember her name, to which she will be quite (if embarrassedly) sympathetic because she doesn't remember your name either, or if you call her by the wrong name, which is naturally a very bad idea. Broken Aesop: The best way to avoid humiliating Robin (well, to keep her from being more humiliated than she already is, anyway) is go through her wallet or look at her laptop while she's in the bathroom so you can find out her name.Bittersweet Ending: The best ending has you part on good terms with Robin but you can't remember your encounter with her and she doesn't want to date.Bedmate Reveal: One of the first scenes in the game.Because You Were Nice to Me: One of the reasons Robin goes home with you is because you provided her comfort in her time of need.Backstory: You can find out more about Robin by exploring the room while she's gone.
The All-Concealing "I": The Player Character doesn't get a name by default, but you can be prompted to input one depending on your choices.Those expecting more will be disappointed. I’d certainly recommend One Night Stand to those achievement hunters, and casual gamers amongst the TA community. It would be quite difficult to work out all the choices/sequences required to get the completion on your own. Then, following Billz’ / Achievement Land’s excellent YouTube video walkthrough guide you will able to get the remainder of the achievements within about 30-40 minutes. If you’re going for the achievements (which, considering you’re on TA reading the review of a Ratalaika game, you probably are), I’d recommend playing the game through a few times yourself first. Your first few playthroughs will take you approximately 10 minutes, however fortunately from then there is a fast forward feature to speed through dialogue you’ve experienced on previous playthroughs. Some of the more comedic items you pick up do provide genuine laughs. That said, some of the dialogue on the way to your first few endings can be rather amusing. However, I was mildly disappointed how most of the endings turned out quite predictably. During my first few playthroughs, I felt that there was something more sinister at play and that the game would take unexpected turns to surprise endings.
There are many items scattered around the room that instigate a variety of dialogue pieces with the unnamed female. You wake to your friend trying to contact you to get an explanation of what happened, and everything from there develops on the decisions you make, and items you interact with. In the game you play as a young male who was woken up in a female strangers bed, believing to have had a – as the game’s title may suggest – a one night stand. This is my first ever visual novel completion and I did have some fun for the first one hour or so of playing. One Night Stand is a point and click / digital novel style game from Kinmoku - currently their only game on the Xbox Live Store, and published by everyone’s (sometimes least) favourite publisher, Ratalaika Games.įirst of all to say, for a Ratalaika game this really isn’t all that bad.
